Buying the Right Glasses Frames For Men

Glasses frames for men are perhaps the most difficult thing to purchase in eyewear. Every company makes frames that guys can wear, but few stores will carry a good selection of those styles. It also becomes a matter of fit and taste. You may see something close to what you're looking for, but it isn't quite what you want. The search for something new can be tiring, but there are a few things you can do to aid in the process so you can get exactly what you want.

Start your search online. Before you go anywhere else, look for the styles you like online. It's best to browse through everything on the market and get a good idea of what you want. Every brand name will have a style you like. This is a good time to start deciding which brands suit you, and you may also find that a particular brand fits your style perfectly. If that's the case, there's nothing stopping you from looking for only that line of products.

Don't be afraid of fancy names on your eyewear. The truth is, the 99 cent pair you keep buying are not very good. They fall apart easily, no one can repair them, and you will constantly be frustrated with them. Buying something with the name of a high-end fashion house on it usually solves that problem. None of those companies would be caught dead producing eyewear that was not top quality.

After you've chosen the nice brands you like, you have to get down to the business of finding the right style. Get a woman's advice. Some men look better with a rectangular frame and others look good with a round frame. You may even mind that you like the oval look, or perhaps you like a much thinner frame. Stand in front of the mirror and try things on. You can't be expected to dive in to a new pair of glasses if you've never put them on your face before.

Keep in mind a few natural rules of how frames fit your face. Thin guys will look good in a thinner pair. Guys with stronger chins and wider faces will look good in a larger frame. Just follow some common sense rules when you're making a choice.

If you are having a hard time finding something new, you may want to get some help from your doctor's office. Some opthalmologists have an optician on site who can take care of your needs. You'll never have to travel anywhere, and working one-on-one with an optician is a good way to go. Plus, you could build a relationship with the optician so that every time you change styles they know what's right for you.

It might also be advantageous to work through your insurance company. Vision insurance offers coverage on the prices of lenses, frames, and other eye-related needs. Your insurance company may have a website you can shop for new glasses, offer an allowance for new purchases, or offer deals with certain retailers. It may be the best way to know how much money you can save in the process.

Looking for new eyewear doesn't have to be a hassle. Get some help from someone who knows their fashion to help you pick the right style. Try on many, many different styles to find your favorite. Try going to an opthalmologist who has an on-site optician, and even work with your insurance company. You have many resources at your disposal to help get the best style for a guy.
